I had the pleasure of being asked to shoot the engagement photos for my good friends Tom and Lindsay. I have known them for about 3 years and working with them on my first e-session was an absolute pleasure. While not my usual cup of tea, I am glad I had this opportunity to capture the love between these two.

This was the first time that the Marines of the two nations had fought side by side since the defense of the Peking Legations in 1900. Let it be said that the admiration of all ranks of 41 Commando for their brothers in arms was and is unbounded. They fought like tigers and their morale and esprit de corps is second to none.

As a member of Communications Squadron-18, I was deployed to Republic of Korea for the training exercise Ulchi Focus Lens 2006. While in country, we experienced the full extent of Korea’s weather, from the heat to a full on super-typhoon. I had the pleasure of working with the ROK Marines, who are some of the finest troops I have ever met. Their motivation and dedication to their job and country was only emphasized by their constant state of alert due to North Korea’s constant barrage of threats.

During my last year in the Marine Corps, I had the pleasure of being stationed in Okinawa, Japan with MWCS-18. While there, I was engulfed into a culture very different to where I had come from, and from such, built up an appreciation for the cultural differences between the U.S. and Japan.
